Professional
Dr. Caito’s areas of research include generalized trust, comparative politics, conflict processes, fragile states, sociological institutionalism, sacred space, and political networks. His decade of applied experience in the nonprofit sector with Global Mapping International, Samaritan’s Purse, and Habitat for Humanity prior to entering academia continue to inform his scholarly work.
Dr. Caito is currently affiliated with the Pacific Coast Association of Pre-Law Advisors (PCAPLA), Christians in Political Science (CPS), and the American Political Science Association (APSA) through its Conflict Processes, Comparative Democratization, Qualitative and Multi-Method Research, Political Networks, Religion & Politics, and African Politics sections.
Personal
Tony married Alicia in 2001. They have four children: Jackson, Emmelyn, Silas, and Gabriel. When not teaching, Tony enjoys traveling internationally, geocaching, playing disc golf, and taking Jeep road trips.
