Professional

Dr. Straw’s 21 years of real world experience include running his own manufacturing company, working in various IT technical and managerial positions, and serving in the U.S. Navy. He also serves as Executive Director of Mark 5 Ministries, a nonprofit organization dedicated to solving computing technology problems for missionaries.

Dr. Straw has taught at Corban since 2002 and is responsible for courses on information systems, nonprofit management, managerial accounting, and business applications.

Personal

Eric married Margie in 1984 and has four children: Jennifer (’09), Kevin (’13), Matthew (’15), and Rebekah (’17). He enjoys motorcycles, international travel, missions, reading, hiking, and fishing.

NWCCU ACCREDITATION

Corban University is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and completed a Year-Seven Comprehensive (Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness (EIE)) in 2022 for continued accreditation. The comprehensive self-study was followed by an onsite evaluation in October 2022. In February 2023, Corban received reaffirmation of its accreditation for 7 years. Corban University’s last Mid-Cycle Evaluation was fall 2018, and its Policies, Regulations and Financial Review (PRFR) was completed in fall 2021. As of our most recent evaluation, Corban University is compliant with the Standards, Policies, and Eligibility Requirements of the NWCCU.
