Planning for Fall 2020: Health and Safety Measures, Community Expectations, and More

Planning for Fall 2020 is underway! We’re excited to share our a summary of our Return to Campus Plan, which outlines health and safety measures, community expectations, and more. For more details, see our comprehensive Return to Campus Plan. Our Resumption of In-Person Instruction Plan outlines additional information about fall planning for the classroom.

As of July 9, 2020, we have one student living on campus who has tested positive for COVID-19. This student has been quarantined for several days and is now in isolation. Appropriate contact tracing is being conducted in collaboration with Marion County as needed, and Corban University is following all sanitation, isolation, and contact tracing guidelines as outlined in our Communicable Disease Plan. People who have been in this person’s vicinity will receive a call from Marion County Health, and will be given clear instructions for self-quarantine. Otherwise, we ask you to help us maintain the privacy and anonymity of this student. Thank you for helping to minimize risk on Corban’s campus!

To minimize risk for yourself and others, we encourage you to reach out to covidhealth@corban.edu if you reside, work, study, or have visited Corban’s campus and if you have:

  • experienced COVID-19 symptoms, including but not limited to:
    • Fever
    • Shortness of breath
    • Cough
    • Sore throat
    • Loss of taste or smell
  • traveled outside of the United States in the past 14 days
  • been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19

See our flowchart: “Should I Quarantine?”

We ask that everyone in the campus community stay informed about Corban policies on COVID-19 prevention, exposure, and response. In addition to the above resources, please check out our COVID-19 FAQ page, which is updated weekly, as well as the CDC website.

Please reach out to Corban’s COVID-19 Response Team at covidhealth@corban.edu if you have additional questions. Thank you for doing your part to minimize risk for Corban students, staff, faculty, and guests.
