Biology
Corban’s biology program is a launchpad for a meaningful career in science. Whether you’re preparing for medical school, ecological research, or a career in public health, you’ll explore God’s intricate design of living organisms through rigorous coursework, hands-on research and internship, and a biblical perspective.
From your first year, you’ll be in the lab, conducting experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating on research that reflects your interests. Small class sizes mean professors know your name, your goals, and how to support you in reaching them.
You’ll graduate with more than a degree. You’ll carry with you a strong foundation in scientific thinking, practical experience in the lab and field, and a vision for using science to serve God and others.

Concentrations
A biology degree lays the foundation for a wide range of careers, from medicine to environmental science to scientific research. Choose from two concentrations, depending on your goals. You’ll work closely with your faculty advisor to make sure you are taking the right courses to get into a specific medical or physical therapy program if that is your goal, or tailor your degree for a specific field of science.
Most biomed students continue on to medical or graduate school for professional training in medicine, veterinary science, pharmacy, optometry, or dentistry. Students who choose the biology track may go into research, ecology, lab work, and other science-related careers.
Featured Courses
Explore the building blocks of life through hands-on lab work and engaging lessons in cellular biology, genetics, and molecular processes. Investigate how animals function, adapt, and interact within the environment, while developing scientific thinking and research skills.
Learn the foundational principles of chemistry, from atoms and molecules to chemical reactions and energy. Reinforce your understanding through lab experiments designed to bring chemistry to life.
Sharpen your scientific thinking and communication skills. This course introduces essential research tools—including data analysis, scientific reading, and literature evaluation—to help you become a confident and competent contributor to scientific inquiry and writing.
Pursue your own research project under the guidance of a faculty mentor. Designed for upper-division biology students, this course provides valuable experience in experimental design, data collection, and academic writing—preparing you for graduate study or professional research.
