Deepen your understanding of what you believe—and why it matters.
Corban’s 100% online Theological Studies Certificate is designed for believers who want a strong, structured, academically grounded foundation in Christian theology so they can understand, articulate, and live out their faith with clarity and conviction.
Whether you’re leading in ministry, teaching others, or seeking to grow in your own understanding of God’s truth, this certificate equips you to think carefully about Scripture and its teachings.
You’ll explore key doctrines of the Christian faith, learn how to interpret Scripture faithfully, and develop a framework for understanding what the Bible teaches about God, humanity, salvation, and the Church.
The courses in this certificate are part of Corban’s Biblical & Theological Studies program, so you’ll receive the same academically rigorous, biblically grounded instruction as degree-seeking students. Your certificate can also serve as a stepping-stone toward a bachelor’s degree if you choose to continue your education.
Featured Courses
You’ll take six 8-week courses to earn your certificate:
Learn how to study the Bible with confidence and clarity. In this course, you’ll explore biblical hermeneutics—the principles for interpreting Scripture faithfully. You’ll gain tools to understand context, uncover meaning, and apply God’s Word to your life.
Strengthen your ability to think biblically about life and learning. This course introduces Christian and non-Christian worldviews from a biblical-philosophical perspective and challenges you to evaluate life and culture through a gospel-centered lens—preparing you to engage others with grace and clarity.
Build a strong theological foundation by exploring the essential doctrines of the Christian faith. This course focuses on the nature and method of theology (Prolegomena), the authority, inerrancy, and sufficiency of Scripture (Bibliology), and the doctrine of the Trinity. You’ll learn to identify the biblical basis for each doctrine, understand how they connect to one another, and apply sound theology to personal spiritual growth and ministry in the local church.
Study key topics in systematic theology while learning to identify the biblical foundation of each doctrine and how they relate to one another. You’ll explore the practical application of sound doctrine for personal spiritual growth and service in the local church. Topics include the nature and attributes of God, humanity, sin, the Fall, and the ongoing reality of sin in the Christian life.
Study key doctrines of the Christian faith while learning to identify their biblical foundations, understand how they relate to one another, and apply them to your spiritual growth and ministry. Topics include the person and work of Christ, the Holy Spirit and His ministry, and the doctrines of salvation such as grace, atonement, election, regeneration, justification, sanctification, and perseverance.
Study the nature, identity, and purpose of the Church, and explore how it is structured and led. You’ll examine the Church’s relationship to Israel, review historical approaches to church governance, and analyze biblical qualifications for leadership. This course highlights the Church as the Body of Christ and its role in making a difference in the world for Jesus Christ.

We are encouraged to think about what God’s Word says about all topics, not just religion. This better prepares believers to impact the world with God’s truth.
