Presidential Scholarship

The Presidential Scholarship recognizes the best and brightest students who exhibit high academic achievement, thoughtful scholarship, and a deep commitment to Jesus Christ.  

These are the students who excel at Corban, where we are committed to serious-minded, thoughtful, Christian higher education that prepares students to think critically about their faith and step into their part in God’s plan with excellence, conviction, and grace.  

Students selected for the Presidential Scholarship will receive our most generous scholarship and benefit from Corban’s Christ-centered mission, a strong liberal arts-based foundation, and a committed faculty who are experts in their discipline.  

A total of seven (7) Presidential Scholarships will be awarded at three tier levels.

  • One (1) Full Scholarship  
    • Covers full cost of attendance at Corban. 
    • Replaces all other Corban aid. 
  • One (1) $20,000 Scholarship  
    • Replaces academic scholarship. 
    • May not be combined with an athletic scholarship, but may be stacked with other Corban aid. 
  • Five (5) $1,000 Scholarships  
    • Stacks on top of academic scholarship. 
    • May not be combined with an athletic scholarship, but may be stacked with other Corban aid.

Application Process

Candidates for this scholarship will be automatically selected from new, incoming traditional undergraduate students based on high school GPA and a demonstrated commitment to their Christian faith. An application for admission must be submitted by November 15 to be considered for this scholarship. Candidates will be then be notified of their eligibility to apply and will go through a two-part application process.  

The written Presidential Scholarship application opens in late November and must be submitted by December 15. Those selected to continue to the next round will be invited to campus for a Presidential Scholarship Competition Weekend in January.

Written Application

Eligible students will be notified of their invitation to apply after November 20. Requirements of the application include: 

  • Minimum GPA: 3.5 or higher 
  • Recommendation from pastor or youth pastor 
  • A written essay (500-800 words) exploring the idea of what a Christian’s role is in today’s polarized society. 
  • Application deadline (including reference): December 15, 2025 

Students are selected to move on to the next phase by a committee.

Selection Process

Final scholarship winners will be selected through an in-person event on Corban’s campus, January 23-24, 2026. Students will highlight their qualification for this prestigious scholarship through essays, interviews with faculty, and group discussions.  

This competition weekend allows students to experience the Corban community at a formal banquet, where they will be able to spend extended time with faculty and staff, and by attending a student event with current Corban students. Scholarship candidates may also stay overnight in the residence halls with a student host if they wish.

Award Details

Scholarships are renewable for up to eight semesters as long as the student remains enrolled in good standing at the University.
