About Dr. Gilbert
Dr. Gilbert’s primary passion as a professor and in counseling and coaching in private practice is helping families and ministry leaders learn, build, teach and lead from a Biblical Sexual Ethic. He also loves the honor of stewarding people’s stories and seeing them draw closer to God by breaking ties with pain from the past. He enjoys preparing students to pursue a master’s degree or to go into people helping careers in psychology or ministry.
Dr. Gilbert’s research includes trauma, sexual abuse, premarital counseling, sexual experiences, and sexual issues in marriage. He frequently speaks in chapel and leads a seminar called “Let’s Talk About Sex: Love, Sex, Dating & Marriage with Dr. G,” where students of all ages can ask questions and engage in honest conversations. He readily speaks at local churches, conducts marriage retreats on topics such as sexual health among other topics, and participates in discussions on sexual issues and trauma.
Dr. Gilbert is a Professional Associate of the American Board of Christian Sex Therapists. He is also a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, Society for Christian Psychology, and Marriage and Family Network, as well as a member of the International Association of Trauma Professionals.
Dr. Gilbert is the founder and owner of HealingLives, LLC. He offers Professional Counseling services, coaching, masterminds, trainings, and is a speaker you can book for your next conference, church, group meeting, or retreat by going to http://www.drcoreygilbert.com.
He is an international best seller of I Can’t Say That! Going Beyond “The Talk”: Equipping Your Children to Make Choices on Sexuality and Gender from a Biblical Sexual Ethic, a book aimed at parents and the building of their own sexual ethic from a biblical worldview. It is on Amazon – and don’t forget to grab the workbook.

Dr. Gilbert married his best friend, Kelly, in 2003. They have three redheaded children. The Gilberts homeschool their children and are involved in their homeschool co-op Classical Conversations (CC), Boy Scouts, where Dr. G is the Scoutmaster, American Heritage Girls where Kelly serves, and other outdoor adventures. They love the outdoors and Oregon weather. Dr. G rides his Harley year-round – it is usually parked (and can be heard) on the upper campus.

It is such an honor to be given the responsibility to steward others’ difficult stories well and have the job of drawing them to the foot of the cross for hope and glimpses of the life to come. I am honored to teach on topics such as addictions, trauma, abuse, and many other hard-to-discuss topics. Why? Because of what’s to come after the hard road of facing these issues (whether things done to us or by us). There is amazing hope and freedom in our Lord and Savior. The environment and relationships found at Corban will change your life forever and are of immeasurable value. I also love the process of helping others grow, discover, and develop their sexual ethic from a biblical perspective.
