Whether it’s a long-held dream or a new direction, you’ve felt a pull toward the classroom—and now you’re ready to make it a reality. Corban’s Graduate Teacher Licensure (GTL) program is designed to help you turn that calling into a meaningful career.
If you’re changing careers or stepping forward from a support role in education, this program will equip you to teach students from early childhood through high school in both public and private school settings.
If you already hold a bachelor’s degree but did not major in education, the GTL program provides a direct path to licensure. Upon completion, you’ll be eligible for a Preliminary Oregon Teaching License and ready to lead your own classroom with confidence.
Throughout the program, you’ll:
- Develop your own philosophy of education grounded in biblical principles and ethics.
- Explore theories of teaching and learning and discover how to apply them in the classroom.
- Design differentiated instruction that meets the needs of all learners, including culturally and academically diverse populations.
- Build effective assessment strategies to guide student growth.
- Grow as a professional who collaborates well, welcomes feedback, and puts students first.
At Corban, you’ll get the support, flexibility, and Christ-centered approach you’re looking for and the preparation you need to lead with purpose and passion, shaping the next generation through excellent, compassionate teaching.

Featured Courses
Explore how biblical beliefs shape educational philosophy and practice. In this course, you’ll reflect on your own worldview and examine how it influences your approach to teaching, learning, and thinking about current issues in education.
Design lessons that connect learning goals to real outcomes. In this first part of a two-semester sequence, you’ll develop objectives, content, and strategies aligned with Oregon standards. Practice key teaching techniques through microteaching and build a fully developed three-day instructional unit that reflects both educational best practices and biblical integration.
Explore how race, culture, language, disability, and socioeconomics impact learning. Learn strategies for creating inclusive classrooms and examine diversity through a biblical lens to better serve all students.
Step into the classroom for a full-time, 15-week student teaching experience. You’ll plan and lead instruction, teach a full unit, and complete a teaching performance assessment to meet Oregon licensure requirements. What to Expect
Flexible, 100% Online Format
Corban’s GTL program is designed for working professionals, with 100% online coursework that fits your schedule. Most assignments can be completed on your own time, while periodic scheduled virtual meetings allow you to connect with faculty and your cohort.
Virtual classroom observations make it possible for you to do your student teaching anywhere!
Hands-On Experience from the Start
Get into the classroom early through practicums and guided observation, letting you explore grade levels and build confidence before your student teaching begins.
Most students can continue working in their current role until the final term, which includes a 15-week, full-time student teaching placement. During this time, you’ll lead instruction, complete a teaching performance assessment, and meet the requirements for your Oregon Preliminary Teaching License.

Generous Scholarships
We’re excited to offer scholarships specifically for graduate students, including Corban alumni, parents of Corban students, military, members of partner network churches, and employees of non-profit or ministry organizations.
