Tony Frazier Joins Corban University to Launch New Era of Community Engagement
SALEM, OR (AUGUST, 2026) – Former Kroc Center Executive Director, Tony Frazier, joined the leadership team of Corban University as Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives and Community Engagement beginning August 10.
Frazier has a reputation of being a thought leader and change agent in the Salem-Keizer area. Earlier this year, Frazier stood on stage at the Salem Convention Center to receive the inaugural NonProfit Leadership Award, granted by the Salem Chamber of Commerce. This award reflected years of his work in making the Kroc Center an organization that changes lives.
At the Kroc Center, Frazier not only helped individuals pursue healthier habits, but also found new ways to serve youth in the community. He raised funds to help create pathways for young adults to complete their GED and added opportunities for people to get started in the trades.
Coming to Corban, Frazier looks forward to a new season of creative engagement that serves the community. “I am excited to join a team that is willing to anticipate change rather than simply respond to it,” he said. “Together with community partners, we will explore new possibilities that strengthen Corban’s mission, enhance student experience, and create lasting value for the Salem community.”
A 1992 graduate of Western Baptist College (now Corban University), Frazier’s role will see him expand his work in the community by building out new, external projects that the University will reveal in the coming months. “Corban’s commitment to Christ-centered education provides an extraordinary platform for innovation. My goal is to help identify emerging opportunities that honor the University’s mission while expanding its influence. By thinking strategically about the future, we can ensure Corban continues to equip leaders who make a lasting difference in the world,” Tony reflected.
For the last three years, Corban has seen consistent growth in enrollment, giving, and fiscal stability. Dr. John Mark Yeats, current president of the University, stated, “We are excited about our ongoing growth and are blessed to have Tony help us take the next steps as a University to better connect with our community.”
In an era when universities are struggling, Corban’s hire of Tony Frazier reflects a different path. Frazier stated, “I’ve spent my career building organizations around shared purpose. I see tremendous potential for Corban to become an even stronger convener of ideas, partnerships, and service. Success won’t simply be measured by what we accomplish on campus, but by transformed lives and strengthened communities because Corban chose to lead with vision, faith, and courage.”
