The Counseling Center provides free, confidential counseling for undergraduate students at Corban University, by appointment only.
Counseling can give you the opportunity to work on emotional, relational, and spiritual health while pursuing your degree. It can help with issues that hinder success in many areas of your life. Why not take this opportunity to work on the whole you while you are at Corban?
The counselors are second-year graduate students from Corban’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. All counselors subscribe to the ethics codes of the American Counseling Association and the Oregon State Board of licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists.
Yes. All information gathered in counseling, including the fact that a student has come into the Counseling Center, is held in strict confidence. No information is released to college officials, faculty members, parents, or outside agencies except upon written request by the students and what the law requires counselors to report.

Short term, on campus counseling services are provided at no cost to current undergraduate students. If appropriate, you may be referred to an off-campus counselor or agency for psychological tests or further consultation at your own expense.

Counseling services are available by appointment only. If you are interested in counseling, please email counseling@corban.edu. You will receive an email response asking for some additional information.
NO WALK-IN APPOINTMENTS. YOU MUST HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO BE SEEN BY A COUNSELOR.
At certain times of year, there may be a waiting list for counseling and students will be assigned counselors when counselors become available. If your need is urgent, please contact the Psychiatric Crisis Center at the Salem Hospital by calling 503-585-4949.
Policies and Procedures
The mission of Corban University’s Counseling Center is to serve the students of Corban University. The counseling center is not an emergency clinic. The counselors on campus adhere to FERPA, the Code of Ethics of the State of Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, and the American Counseling Association in regard to the confidentiality of clients/students. As such, the Clinical Director and counselors are unable to confirm or deny that a student has sought counseling services.
The general policies of the Corban University Counseling Center are:
- The center is not a crisis center. If the student is in crisis, they need to contact their Resident Assistant or Area Coordinator and/or contact 911 or the Psychiatric Crisis Center.
- Students contact the Counseling Center to make an appointment.
- Students are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- When an inquiry is received for an appointment, the student is contacted by the administrative assistant for additional information.
- Either an appointment will be made or the student will be placed on the waiting list.

Life Path Ministries- Salem Alliance Church
A recovery program designed to help people get out of areas that they’ve been “stuck” in. These groups are conducted as a ministry of Salem Alliance Church. Group topics range from self-esteem issues to grief, loneliness, anger, and more. Some last for 8 weeks and some are ongoing throughout the year. Registration is affordable ($20) and scholarships are available for those in need of assistance.
