Policies and Procedures

The mission of Corban University’s Counseling Center is to serve the students of Corban University. The counseling center is not an emergency clinic. The counselors on campus adhere to FERPA, the Code of Ethics of the State of Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, and the American Counseling Association in regard to the confidentiality of clients/students. As such, the Clinical Director and counselors are unable to confirm or deny that a student has sought counseling services.

The general policies of the Corban University Counseling Center are:

  • The center is not a crisis center. If the student is in crisis, they need to contact their Resident Assistant or Area Coordinator and/or contact 911 or the Psychiatric Crisis Center.
  • Students contact the Counseling Center to make an appointment.
  • Students are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • When an inquiry is received for an appointment, the student is contacted by the administrative assistant for additional information.
  • Either an appointment will be made or the student will be placed on the waiting list.
