Indonesia: Teacher Education

Corban’s partnership with Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) Teachers College and UPH International Teachers College (ITC) advances Christian education throughout the nation of Indonesia. Corban has granted B.Ed. degrees to more than 2,000 teacher candidates at UPH. Upon graduation, these new teachers fill classroom positions at Christian schools throughout rural and remote areas of Indonesia.

Similarly, students at ITC come from all over East Asia and Africa to complete a program in Christian education and then return home to contribute effectively to the educational enterprise in their home countries.

Uganda: Pastor Training

Uganda is on the spiritual front lines of Africa, where Christianity has grown rapidly in the last century. However, this incredible growth has left only one trained pastor for every 20 churches in African countries like Uganda.

Responding to the need, Corban’s School of Ministry has developed a three-year Africa Training Program (ATP) at no cost to students. Ministry leaders in the program come from all regions of Uganda and a variety of ministry positions, from senior pastors to women’s ministers to youth pastors to church planters. While in the ATP program, these students are training an additional 9-10 leaders each, impacting the ministries of hundreds of leaders across Uganda.

Israel: Bible Translation

The tasks of translating, adapting, and sharing the Bible converge in Israel, where Whole Word Institute is striving to have ongoing translation of the Hebrew Old Testament in every language by 2033. Through a unique strategy, Whole Word Institute provides immersive, biblical Hebrew training to nationals who already know the language and culture of the target translation.

Corban University’s partnership with Whole Word Institute offers a 48-credit graduate certificate in biblical Hebrew translation, equipping beginner-level participants with the skills necessary to translate the Old Testament directly into their native languages. Students may also choose to earn a Master of Arts in Classical Hebrew from Corban through Whole Word Institute.
