Prewitt/Van Gilder Hall

Picture of PVG Hall

Prewitt Van Gilder Hall, known as PVG, is two halls in one building, divided into gender-specific floors. Prewitt Hall, home to about 70 women, is named for Mildred Prewitt, a lifelong supporter of the University. Van Gilder Hall is home to about 75 men and is named for Dr. H. O. Van Gilder, the University’s fourth president.

With a large main lobby space between the two sides of the residential housing, ping pong, pool, a movie room, and enough couches for everyone, PVG is a staple for community, games, and friendships.

Events

Just Prewitt

In this event, the four women’s halls compete in a variety of athletic, mental, and food-related competitions like mattress surfing, Orbeez trivia, steal the bacon, and smoothie roulette. It’s just as fun to watch as it is to compete! This event changes themes and activities every year but remains just as fierce, competitive, and fun.

Mr. VG

The infamous, long–standing, man pageant takes quick-witted improv, impressive duct tape talent, and a commitment to put forth nothing but your very best for the large audience this event attracts. The winner of this two-day competition receives the coveted Mr. VG golden sledgehammer and a reserved parking spot until the next winner is crowned.

Other Activities

Halls also have RA-led Bible studies, activities, small groups, and monthly community gatherings.
