Warrior Welcome, our new student orientation event, is designed to help you make a successful transition to university life. During Warrior Welcome, you’ll explore campus, connect with new friends, and become part of the awesome community Corban is known for.

Your family is also invited to attend Saturday-Sunday, August 24-25.

If your family needs hotel accommodations, many of the hotels in the Salem area offer a discounted rate for Corban families. Click here for nearby hotel options. Please note that the Oregon State Fair will be happening this same weekend in Salem, so we recommend booking lodging early!

Living Large: Experiencing Life In & Out of the Classroom

Join Corban’s VP of Student Life and Director of Student Support to find out how you can be part of the full student experience! You will learn all about student and residence life at Corban as well as what support is offered to students in order for you to succeed in the classroom.

How to Succeed as a Student Athlete
Presenters: Dr. Bryce Bernard & Bill Pilgeram

If you are a Corban athlete, or the parent/guest of a Corban athlete, this workshop is for you! Learn about athletic expectations, eligibility, surviving travel, and succeeding academically as a student-athlete.

The Inside Scoop of Student Traditions
Presenters: Luke Walker & Student Leaders

Members from Student Life will share some of the fun student traditions that take place as part of the Corban community! They will unpack some of the unique activities, events, and other Corban staples you may experience as a student over the next few years.

 

Preparing Students for Their Professional Lives
Presenter: Kelli Gassman

Location: PV 107

Corban University’s Career Services builds bridges to help students navigate the transition from their academic learning to launching their professional lives. In this workshop, Corban’s Director of Career Services will provide insights into the bridge-building process and how students and parents can engage.

 

Life in Salem: What to Expect (offered at 1pm only!)
Presenter: Dr. Jen Kleiber

Are you new to the Salem area? Come hear from one of our faculty members about what life in Salem is like! During this time, Dr. Jen Kleiber will share about some favorite local eateries, coffee shops, and activities you can participate in when living in Salem’s central location.

 

International Student Workshop (offered at 2pm only!)
Presenter: Dr. Mechelle Garrett & Tanni Swisher

Location: PV 103

If you are an international student, come to this workshop! During this time, our Vice President for Global Engagement & Community Belonging and Assistant Director of the Center for Global Engagement will walk students through health insurance, immunizations, banking, cell phones, employment, and tax information. You will also get to collect important paperwork as well as discuss what the international shuttle looks like throughout the year.

NWCCU ACCREDITATION

Corban University is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and completed a Year-Seven Comprehensive (Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness (EIE)) in 2022 for continued accreditation. The comprehensive self-study was followed by an onsite evaluation in October 2022. In February 2023, Corban received reaffirmation of its accreditation for 7 years. Corban University’s last Mid-Cycle Evaluation was fall 2018, and its Policies, Regulations and Financial Review (PRFR) was completed in fall 2021. As of our most recent evaluation, Corban University is compliant with the Standards, Policies, and Eligibility Requirements of the NWCCU.
