Professional

Dr. Bunch has been in teacher education since 2001. He came to Corban to help develop the graduate education program in 2005, specifically because of the University’s emphasis on biblical integration in teaching. Before that, he was a teacher in the Hillsboro (Oregon) School District. He retired in 2016, but continues to have a part-time role supporting faculty and administration in state and national accreditation of Corban’s teacher education program.

Personal

Roy and his wife, Jo, have been married since 1973, and they have two married children and six grandchildren. He enjoys reading, hiking, watching movies with his wife, and laughing with friends.

Why Corban

“I came to Corban University for the specific purpose of preparing Christian teachers for the classroom in both public and private Christian schools. I longed to help prepare these teachers in an environment that explicitly addressed issues of biblical worldview and educational practices. Even though partly retired, it continues to be my pleasure to be part of this community that fulfills this hope of mine and in which the working and professional relationships reflect so well who we are as a Christian university.”
