When is graduation?

Saturday, May 2nd, 2020. Tickets are required for each guest.

Where is graduation?

Salem Armory Auditorium, 2320 17th Street NE, Salem, OR 97309

What time do I need to be there?

TBD

You should have your cap and gown on, check in at the table to pick up name cards and be in your assigned section in the auditorium by the TBD time for a short rehearsal. You will then proceed to the commencement staging area.

Tickets?

Graduation is a ticketed event. Students will receive tickets to invite guests to the ceremony. Tickets will be available at Grad Finale.

Will there be handicap seating available?

Guests who need special accommodations during the ceremony for a disability or mobility challenges should contact Candice Pilgeram in the Registrar’s Office at (503) 375-7018.

How do I get my cap and gown?

Your cap and gown will be available for pick-up on Thursday, February 27th, from 2:00–6:00 p.m. at the Grad Finale event held in Schimmel Hall, room 212. If you are unable to come at this time, you may arrange for a friend or family member to pick up your cap and gown for you. Your friend or family member will need to bring a note from you granting permission to pick up your regalia. If regalia is not picked up that day, students may contact the Registrar’s office.

Regalia will not be available for pick-up on the day of commencement.

Is there a rehearsal?

Yes, graduation rehearsal will be prior to the ceremony on Saturday, May 2nd, (the time is to be announced at a later date) in the Salem Armory Auditorium. All students who are participating in graduation need to be in their cap and gown and in their assigned section inside the auditorium at that time. Rehearsal will last approximately 20 minutes.

*Food is not available to purchase onsite, so please plan accordingly. There is no storage for personal belongings at the event. Please leave these items with a family member.

Will I get my diploma that day?

No, diplomas will be mailed to graduates. August and December grads should have already received diplomas in the mail. May grads, your diploma will be mailed 6-8 weeks after the graduation ceremony if all degree requirements have been fulfilled and there is no outstanding financial obligation to the University.

Will photographs be taken during the graduation ceremony?

Yes. GradImages is the official photographer for our Commencement. Proofs will be sent to your home and e-mail within three to five days after graduation. Pictures can be ordered online, by phone, or by mail.

How do I order graduation announcements or a class ring?

Graduation announcements and class rings can be ordered online directly from Jostens at www.jostens.com. Jostens representatives will also be available at our Grad Finale on Thursday, February 27th, from 2:00–6:00 p.m. in Schimmel 212, Emitte Center.
