Corban basketball is moving the ball; this time into tournament play as both the warrior men and women earn their positions in the Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament beginning tonight.
A 29-4 run over a span of nine minutes in the first half helped lead Corban's women's basketball team to an 84-76 win over Cascade Collegiate Conference rival Northwest Christian on Friday inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.
The women enter the tournament Tuesday Feb. 22 as the No. 2 seed in the conference when they play Southern Oregon on the Warriors’ home court at 7 p.m.
After a one-year hiatus from the Cascade Collegiate Conference playoffs, Corban's men's basketball team earned the tournament's No. 6-seed and will travel to Warner Pacific on Wednesday, Feb. 23, for a 7 p.m. contest.
This will be only the Warriors' second postseason appearance since the 2004-05 season, as Corban had a streak of 12-straight playoff-worthy seasons snapped in 2005-06. The Warriors returned to the playoffs in 2009 before finishing 10th last season and having to stay home for only the third time since the league began in 1994-95.
Tickets for the matchups are $8 for reserved seating. General seating is $5 for adults, $2 for students with ID and seniors and $1 for children 12 and under.
