"If you’re reading this, you’re probably seriously considering Corban College. That gets me so excited! My time as a student here was life changing. And NOW I get to turn around and help YOU as you consider where God may have you for your college experience. How cool is that? I love doing what I do here at Corban. I get to help and encourage YOU as you’re deciding what to do with this next big step of life! Make sure you’re talking to the Lord about this whole process. But do me a favor, won’t you? Contact me and let me know how I can help. I’m here to help and I LOVE it!"
1. Word or Phrase that describes you? Ambiguous
2. What’s your favorite thing to do in Salem?
Hmmm… I would have to go with an entire Salem outing. Starting with coffee at Starbucks (or the Blue Pepper, one of my new favorite coffee shops), Wake boarding on the Willamette River (or wake FALLING if we’re talking about me), a stroll through the historic downtown Salem to pick a great dinner location (Let’s say The Wild Pear because it’s incredible) and a cheap movie at Northern Lights Theatre Pub.
3. What do you love about Corban?
The people. The atmosphere here is genuinely warm, welcoming and Christ-centered. Students are friendly and authentic, professors are excited about getting to know you beyond the classroom, and staff members really are here to help you out! It’s exciting when visitors come on campus and ask us WHY everyone seems so nice. When you come to Corban, you’re not only attending a college. You’re becoming part of our family.
4. Favorite Corban Tradition?
If I could only pick one, I would choose the one that made me laugh the hardest. How about Turkey Trot. I love the costumes, I love that staff join in and participate along with students, I love the intensity that walkers have in their portion of the race and I love that they let me emcee!
5. What is your most embarrassing moment while working on the Corban admissions team?
Let’s just say there was a lot of wind and I was wearing a skirt. And the man that shouted “Thank you!” across the gas station parking lot didn’t help matters either.
6. If you had to be on a reality TV show which one would you be on and why?
TV isn’t ALL REAL?!
7. If a movie was being made of your life and you could choose the actor/actress to play you, who would you choose and why? Let’s go with Joan Cusack (Think School of Rock and Runaway Bride) because she plays quirky, awkward and yet lovable characters.
8. Of all the “Saved by the Bell” characters, I am most like ________, because:
Was Jessie the tall nerd? Yes? Ok, then Jessie.
9. If you could live anywhere for one year, all expenses paid, where would you live?
I would live in Israel. (Again. But we DID say all expenses paid this time, right? I’ve learned to read the fine print…)
10. When was the last time you did something for the first time? What was it?
I went to Disneyland just this last summer! Road trip anyone? Please?!
11. What advice would you give to your incoming students?
Do your homework. Literally, that will help with scholarships. But really, do your homework in terms of gathering info and asking a lot of questions. And when it’s all said and done, let go of the info, and let God lead you. He has an amazing plan for your life and He has not forgotten about the college portion of your life! Start asking Him about it now!
Hey all! I'm excited to get to know you, and help you in your college process. Where you go to college is a HUGE decision, and I'm happy to walk with you through the process. Feel free to e-mail, call, or better yet, come visit me at Corban.
