For two weeks, this positive and fun training will provide education
in theatre skills while raising the appreciation of the arts. We provide a platform to enable students to explore and express their God given creativity and imagination while encouraging them to delight in the theatre process and the end-product.
Students receive instruction from experienced, local, Christian
theatrical artisans and former college actors. The Saturday recital showcases original pieces from the student groups.

Discounts available for families of three or more children
No admits at the door without previous registration.
The purpose of Theatre Camp is to:
- provide education in theatre skills
- raise student appreciation of the arts
- nurture community spirit
- expose participants to various arts involved
in theatre
- enable students to explore and express their God-given creativity and imagination
- provide a platform for participants to
perform scenes for a peer and adult audience
- develop participants’ self-awareness and
awareness of the world around them
- encourage students to delight in the process of theatre, not just the end product

Daily schedule for all tracks:
All tracks participate in theatre seminars three times a week, write and rehearse short plays, and learn a song and dance.
On Thursday, August 1, all tracks will stay for dress rehersal until 3:30 p.m. Please bring lunches.

Psalm Performing Arts Center
Track I, 2 p.m.
Track I groups will perform original short plays, developed through improvisation. Campers should arrive at 12 noon to get ready for their 2 p.m. performance which will last between 1 to 2 hours.
Track II and III, 6 p.m.
Track II and Track III groups will perform short plays. Campers should arrive at 4 p.m. to get ready for their
6 p.m. performance which will last about 2+ hours.
Performances will be recorded and DVDs will be available for purchase.
Daily camp attendance is mandatory
Unavoidable or last minute conflicts (such as family death or illness) are the only exceptions.

Improvisation:
Fun theatre games (Stephen Schwarzenber, founder of The Actor’s worskhop)
Character development:
How to create and act believable characters (Catherine Lindley, experienced playwright and actor, Portland)
Lighting:
Hands-on workshop on how to design color for stage (Josh Bartlett, Technical Coordinator at Corban)
Costuming:
Costume design principles to communicate era, character and mood (Shaula Coulsen, costumer for Corban)
