Corban Fitness Center
Welcome to the Corban University’s Fitness Center web page! We hope that you will find everything you are looking for, and more. As the Sport Center Manager, I would like to invite you to our fitness center and the other areas within the center. Come on by and get a work out or simply come and chat. My hope is to provide you with a great experience and great service. I’m sure you will find this to be true when you meet our gym supervisors (student-workers). Our goal is to provide you with the means to enjoy fitness and make healthy choices that will lead to an active lifestyle. We believe this will further your enjoyment in making good healthy choices and help in your quest to improve your personal fitness.
The Corban University Fitness Center is located in the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center. The fitness center is fully equipped with strength and cardio equipment. Our equipment is frequently in use; therefore, we have a first come first serve policy. Students, staff, faculty and alumni are all invited to use the fitness center at no charge. Please see our guest use policy page for more details.
We look forward to serving you at the fitness center. Prior to your first exercise session, please visit your doctor to verify you don’t have any medical limitations concerning exercise. If you’re doctor identifies you as a high-risk participant, please receive a medical evaluation and clearance from your doctor before starting an exercise program. If you are a high-risk for exercise activity---proceed at your own risk.
We hope you will make it a point to stop in meet our staff. If you have any questions, please stop in at our offices located in the first floor. For assistance in the evening, please contact our athletic activities gym supervisors—in the blue athletics staff polo.

At anytime, students who feel they need an accommodation for any type of injury, sickness or disability should make an appointment to discuss the matter with the facility manager. The C.E. Jeffers Sports Center Facilities is for the use of current Corban students, staff and faculty. Guest and alumni must sign the Guest & Alumni Participation WAIVER OF LIABILITY AGREEMENT FORM before using the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center Facilities.
Use of C.E. Jeffers Sports Center is a privilege, and failure to adhere to the printed rules and directions of the Athletic Activities Staff governing participation, equipment, dress, reservations of areas, use of areas, food and drink, and conduct will result in administrative cancellations of privileges.
Definition of a guest: Any friend or relative of a current Corban student, staff or faculty member. The student, staff or faculty member MUST be present in order for their guest to use the facility. The guest must sign a waiver of liability release before the use of the facility.
Definition of alumni: Any former graduate of Corban University. Alumni must sign a waiver of liability release before the use of the facility.
The waiver of liability release forms can be attained by contacting the facility staff. As required, please do not proceed with using the facility until you have signed and understood the waiver of liability use form.
Fitness Facility Policies
Cleaning the Equipment:
You are required to clean your own equipment.
Please use the towel cleaning system to clean your equipment before and after use. Violators of this rule can and will forfeit their privilege to use the fitness center. A “clean” and “dirty” bin is located at both the main entrances to the fitness center. Please familiarize yourself with this system.
- Facility users must wipe down perspiration off the fitness equipment, weight room equipment, benches and blue mats.
- Do not drop weights.
- Do not place weights on benches.
- Food and drink is restricted to the downstairs lobby entrance area. (Exception: water bottles).
- Any behaviors that are considered unhealthy or may damage the facilities are prohibited.
- Bicycles, skateboards, roller-skates/blades, motorized vehicles (except wheelchairs) or animals (except assistance dogs) are not allowed in any area of the facility.
- Boots, waffle-soled running shoes or shoes that mark on the floor are not permitted on the gym floor.
- Footwear is required throughout the building.
- Shirts are required throughout the building.
- No cut-off jeans, belted shorts/pants, or clothing with rivets are allowed on the exercise equipment.
- No backpacks or other personal gear are allowed in the Weight Room/Fitness area. Participants need to utilize lockers.
- Abuse of the facility or equipment (hanging on basketball rims, dropping weights, etc.) will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal form the facility.
- Only facility approved radios or stereos, other than personal listening devices (with headphones), are allowed.
- Attire deemed inappropriate by the Athletic Activities Staff is not allowed in the facility
Any blatant unsportsmanlike conduct will result in immediate ejection from the facilities. This includes but not limited vulgarity, derogatory language, and physical abuse of another individual and/or damage to facilities.
Apparel which is deemed damaging to the equipment or a threat to the safety of the individual or other participants may be prohibited.
Footwear is required in all areas, with the exception of the locker rooms. At no other time, nor in any other location, may an individual walk in and part of C.E. Jeffers Sports Center without footwear.
Participants with disabilities should contact the Gym Facilities Manager for assistance in using the facilities.
Facility users should not leave personal items in activity areas during recreational hours. Lockers are available on a daily basis for storage. To avoid injuries, gym bags and other personal items must be stored away from all walkways.
Athletic Activities Staff or faculty member cannot accept personal items for personal storage. The Athletic Activities Staff and Corban University is not responsible for loss of property in the facilities.
