Department of Security Services

As authorized by the President and the Board of Trustees, security agents assist in preserving public peace and order, protect faculty, staff, students, visitors and property from crime and safety hazards.

Specific services include but are not limited to 24 hours a day 7 days a week security patrols, the locking and unlocking of buildings, parking regulations enforcement, campus escorts, identifying any person suspected of violating state or local laws or college rules and regulations, and dissemination of safety related information.

The Department of Security Services posts warnings of criminal activity that may impact the safety of faculty, staff, and students. These warnings may take the form of all campus voice mails, e-mails, and/or flyers posted on bulletin boards throughout the campus. These warnings are designed to raise awareness of faculty, staff, and students of their surroundings and personal safety.

All security agents are licensed and certified by the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) and may issue warnings or initiate arrests as defined in the Oregon Revised Statues. Security agents have the authority to enforce all degrees of criminal trespassing on the property of Corban College & Graduate School. The Salem Police Department has jurisdiction over criminal matters on the campus.
