Professional: Responsible for the out-of-classroom experience for students. Oversees student life staff (16) encouraging and supporting them in their one-on-one contact with students.
Background: Has worked at Corban since 1990. She was previously communications coordinator at Salem Alliance Church, 1986-1989, and prior to that, a freelance writer. Served on the board for Solo magazine; contributing editor for Spirit! magazine; chair, Corban Woman 2 Woman conference; writer for Oasis women’s conference; workshop leader for Oregon Christian Writers.
Published: Hear Me with your Heart (novel) 1980; Rings of Grass (novel) 1985; A Rooted Sorrow (novel) 1987; Women, Men, and the Trinity, published in 2010. Articles in Moody Monthly, Spirit! and Solo magazines.
Personal: Husband, LeRoy, three children and five grandchildren. Enjoys reading, writing, biking, used bookstores, sipping coffee (with cream) and watching waves crash along the Oregon coast. She says, “One of my great joys at Corban is watching bright, eager freshmen grow into strong, intelligent leaders who exemplify wisdom and integrity and emulate the character of God.” Member of Salem Alliance Church and past member, Rotarian Women.
