Responsibilities: Assistant Professor of Music, Director of Bands, Instrumental Music Education, and Low Brass Studio.
Background: Prior to his appointment at Corban, he taught for fifteen years at the elementary, middle and high school levels in the Salem-Keizer School District. He directed award-winning high school marching and jazz bands and co-conducted the nationally recognized West Salem Wind Ensemble. He holds degrees from Corban University and the University of Oregon.
Activities: He is active as an adjudicator and guest conductor around the Northwest. A specialist on tenor and bass trombone, he enjoys serving as a brass clinician and adjudicator in Oregon. In addition, he is the co-founder of the SSS Band Leadership Camps in Oregon and Virginia.
Affiliations: Oregon Music Educators’ Association, MENC, the College Band Directors’ National Association and the International Trombone Association. He is a charter member of the Oregon chapter of Phi Beta Mu, the International Bandmasters’ Fraternity.
Family: He is married to Becky, and they are raising two sons. The family attends Salem Heights Church.
Interests: Camping, canoeing, backpacking, fly-fishing, and cross-country skiing.
