March 19, 2008
Associated Student Body leaders for the coming school year include one returning ASB member, three former resident hall assistants, and three new to student government at Corban. They were elected at the ASB Election Chapel held March 17, 2008, which included introductions of the candidates by current Board members and speeches by the hopefuls.

The following students were elected to ASB positions for 2008-09: David Collett (San Jose, CA), President; Joshua Warner (Independence, OR), Vice-President; Jordan Lindsey (Canby, OR), Communications Coordinator; Megan Franklin (Puyallup, WA), Ministries Coordinator; Kacie Woosley (Waldport, OR), Activities Coordinator; Ben Pearson (Salem, OR), Organizations Coordinator; and Jason Bernard (Salem, OR), Intramurals Coordinator.
The position of treasurer was not filled since there was no candidate, but a selection process will begin after Spring Break.
“Like in past years,” said Collett as ASB Communications Coordinator for the past two years and now President-Elect, “our goal will be to serve the Lord and the students.”
The Executive Board is responsible for serving the students in a number of ways, including ministry opportunities, representation of students to administration members, and planning of all-school events.
Campus Pastor Kent Kersey heard the news while in Amberg, Germany, where he was teaching a two-week theology course with Corban’s study-abroad program, AmbEx. “I’m excited about next year’s team,” he wrote in an email. “There will be a good mixture of veterans and rookies. Even though there is only one returner to ASB, he will be joined by three former RAs who have proven themselves to be great leaders. I’m excited to get to know the students whom I don’t know at all.”
Kersey works the closest with ASB leadership teams through the school year. “PK,” as students refer to him, added, “It’s always sad, though, to end relationships with this year’s team.”
Warner, as Vice-President-Elect, anticipated, “I’m looking forward to working with a group of people who are committed to serving Corban’s student body.
