Psalm Gallery artist Raschel Anderson's paintings on display through November

November 1, 2006

Raschel AndersonThe November  show at the Psalm Center Visual Arts Gallery features the oil paintings of Salem resident Raschel Anderson. Anderson explores color by using broad, loose brush strokes in her images of landscapes and cityscapes that involve bold, bright colors, while others are more calm and subdued. Her images include sites around the West Coast and Europe.

Raschel has been painting since 1994, when she took her first art class in junior high. She has been an Oregonian all of her life, growing up in Roseburg and making Salem her home for the past five years.  Painting is a part-time love for her, while health education is her full-time career. She attended Linfield College and Oregon State University, obtaining a BA in Health Education and an MPH in Public Health. She works as a faculty member in the Health and PE department at Chemeketa Community College.

The gallery is open M-F, 9-5 in the Psalm Performing Arts Center on the Corban College campus, 5000 Deer Park Drive SE, Salem. Call 503-375-7005 for information.
