The first Corban College camp team went “north to Alaska” as the 2005 summer camp outreach ministry begins. This team, that left June 3, will serve at the Tanalian Bible Camp while other teams will depart for their camp assignments in mid-June.

Doug West, the Camp Team’s coordinator, says all team members completed their training prior to graduation and once again the College has a select group of the best Corban has to offer.

“Students making up our Camp Teams represent various academic departments from education to business to psychology,” Doug says, “but they all possess an active and growing walk with Christ. This will allow them to be great role models in the lives of hundreds of children and youth this summer.”

Tanalian is unique in that they offer ministry to campers from the inland Alaskan villages. Every camper, staff member, and all the food and supplies are flown in to this remote roadless region on Lake Clark. The College’s students and staff have been serving at this small camp since 1998, helping to meet the unique needs of Alaskan village youth.

Team members will be also located at two new camps this year; Camp Tapawingo and Shiloh Bible Camp of Cosmopolis, Washington.

All teams will return to the campus on August 6. This year’s teams and the camps they will serve at include:

  • Team 1: (L-R) David Wattenberger, Jen Long, Tricia TeVelde, Jared Hernandez; The Dunes, Wash., Mountain Lakes, Klamath Falls, and Triumphant Life Camp, Calif.
