NW Baptists Help WB's Mission to Expand

The Northwest Baptist Convention has endorsed Western Baptist College as an educational institution that their member churches should support financially and promote as a preferred college for their young people. The endorsement followed a vote by the NWBC's executive board during their annual meeting in Eugene, Nov. 11-12.

WB's President Dr. Reno Hoff was a guest speaker at the convention. Reno gave a basic overview of the College and shared plans for a new residence hall and the Chapel/Performing Arts Center. Both projects are scheduled for completion in 2004.

"The NWBC's acceptance of Western Baptist is a huge step for our College," Reno said. "This will give us the opportunity to enlarge our mission to another constituency in the Northwest."

Associated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the NWBC has 429 congregations in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and northern California with more than 47,800 church members.
