One family of 10 in Salem enjoyed a happier Thanksgiving day this year with some help from volunteers in WB’s Associated Student Body Office. With the assistance from Salem’s Union Gospel Mission, ASB officers identified a needy family who couldn't afford to buy groceries and used designated funds to purchase and deliver the food items on Wed., Nov. 24. “When we think of Thanksgiving,” ASB Vice President Joe Greenwood said, “we think of giving thanks, the turkey or ham dinner with all the trimmings, and family togetherness. There are so many families who aren’t able to afford that dinner, so we wanted to help and share with others.” ASB Treasurer Dustin Karstetter shopped for and delivered the groceries, which included extra basic food stufts to help resupply the family's pantry and refrigerator.
