Richard L. Caulkins Annual Lecture Series

On Sept, 26 - 28, Corban University’s annual Richard L. Caulkins Lecture Series will explore “Ethics on the Margins of Life and Culture.”

The three lectures by pastor and theologian Dr. Robert Evans are free and open to the public.

On Monday, Sept. 26, Evans will present “Playing God: Making, Faking and Taking Human Life.”  The lecture begins at 10 a.m. andwill focus on the moral responsibility of recognizing human life whether in or out of the womb, and begins at 10 a.m.

On Tuesday,Sept. 27, at 7 p.m., Evans will give an evening lecture on “On the Meaning of Marriage.” He will defend marriage as a sacred vow between one man and one woman and explain why God’s design for marriage is absolute.

On Wednesday he will talk about “Moral Decision Making in a World Without Absolutes” at 10 a.m. His lecture will tackle what happens when a culture disregards the laws of God and discuss whether that culture is still capable of making moral decisions.

During his ministry, Evans has served alongside Billy Graham. He is the current pastor of Christ Church in Pleasanton, Calif., and President of Veritas Ministries International (www.veritasministries.com,) an international educational, evangelistic and apologetic ministry. Additionally, he has written several books including “The Moral Status of Embryos” and “The Reproductive Revolution: A Christian Appraisal of Reproductive Technologies and the Family.” Evans is also a regular contributor to a variety of peer-reviewed journals, newspapers and television and radio programs.
