Public invited to three free Christmas performances at Corban University

Salem, Ore. — The Corban University choirs, orchestra, and bands will present “Noel!,” a showcase of traditional, contemporary, and classical Christmas music the first weekend of December.

The Corban Jazz Band, Concert Band, Chamber Orchestra, Concert Choir and a cappella Chamber Choir will start off the Christmas season with a celebration of festive sounds: December 3 at 7:30 p.m. and December 4 at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Selections include Christmas favorites like “Winter Wonderland,” “Sleigh Ride” and “Gesu Bambino.” In addition to such well-known classics, the Chamber Orchestra will perform Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Fantasia on Greensleeves” and the Chamber Choir will sing “O Magnum Mysterium.” The audience will be invited to participate and sing along with a variety of carols as well as Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” from “The Messiah.”

The concerts will be held in the Psalm Performing Arts Center at Corban University, located at 5000 Deer Park Drive SE, Salem, OR, 97317.  Admission and parking are free; donations will be accepted.
