Corban's fall sports teams began their preparation for a new season this week, as the Warriors' volleyball, men's soccer, and women's soccer teams opened training camp knowing that their respective alumni games are on the horizon.
New and returning athletes began arriving last week, as first-year head women's volleyball coach Heather Dunn and twelfth-year head women's soccer coach Marty Ziesemer kicked off the pre-season with practices on Thursday.
Men's soccer under the guidance of second-year head men's soccer coach Dave Irby began their training this morning, while fifth-year head cross country coach Norm Berney will bring his teams in next Wednesday.
"Seeing a lot of fresh faces on campus again excites us and reminds us that the new seasons are just around the corner," said Tim Seiber, Assistant Director of Athletics at Corban. "As each team begins to prepare for 2007, we (the athletic office) wish them the best and lift them up in our prayers.
"With just over a week before the men's soccer team opens its 2007 season against the University of Great Falls (MT) on Tuesday, August 21st, all three fall sports team will host their respective alumni squads on Saturday, August 18th.
The women's soccer team will open the day beginning at 11:00 a.m., while the men's soccer team concludes the afternoon soccer double header at 1:00 p.m.
The women's volleyball team will end the day's triple-header alumni action starting at 7:00 p.m. inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center. All three events are free to the public.
