NARMER PALETTE
The name Narmer appears at the top between the two cow heads of the goddess Hathor, the fish is "Nar" and the chisel is "Mer". Some authorities claim Narmer was the first Dynasty c.3000 or 2750 B.C. This is thought to be the earliest Egyptian writing. Note the Sumerian art influence of the entwined animal heads.
