Position Summary:
The Department of Athletics is accepting applications for an Assistant Athletic Trainer. This is a full-time position beginning January 1, 2009 with the possibility of an earlier start date and some paid hourly dates during the fall season. Application deadline is August 1, 2008 but resumes will be accepted until the position is filled.
Currently Corban has 13 intercollegiate sports consisting of men’s / women’s soccer, cross country, track and field, golf, and basketball, women’s volleyball and softball, and men’s baseball. The Warriors compete in the Cascade Collegiate Conference at the NAIA and NCCAA Division I level. Corban holds 13 conference championships and 5 national championships.
The goal of the Athletic Department is to train student-athletes through spiritual, academic, and athletic development to accomplish that purpose. Each member of the athletic department strives for the goal by placing high priority and emphasis on the growth and improvement of each student-athlete.
Salary:
Institution scale, based upon qualifications, experience, education, and academic qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications:

Have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Be a member in good standing in a church that is in agreement with the Statement of Faith of Corban.

Possess NATA-BOC certification or be eligible for NATA exam.

Possess an earned degree from an accredited institution.

Have college level athletic training experience.

Exhibit the ability to be flexible, personable, open minded, and team oriented.

Be competent in managing time, budget implementation, supervision of student-workers, and other administrative functions associated with the athletic training responsibilities of Corban.
Preferred Qualifications:

Earned master’s degree from an accredited institution.

Athletic training and teaching experience in a Christian college setting.
Major Responsibilities:
The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for assisting the Head Athletic Trainer in the care, prevention and rehabilitation of student-athletes participating in Corban athletics. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will also assist coaches in developing the spiritual, educational, and athletic aspects of each student-athlete. Following the lead and direction of the Head Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer will complete duties and responsibilities as assigned. The Assistant Athletic Trainer is expected to work together with, and maintain positive relationships within, the various groups of the athletic department and Corban College. The Assistant Athletic Trainer reports and is accountable to the Head Athletic Trainer, the Director of Athletics, and the Vice President for Student Life.
