KANSAS CITY, Mo. -
As announced Tuesday by the NAIA's Kansas City-based national office, senior Danielle Jordan (Medford, Ore.) and sophomore Carli Moller (Vancouver, Wash.) were two of the five NAIA Region I individual qualifiers for the NAIA Championship Cross Country event in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The Warrior duo joins Northwest's Elizabeth Knudtson, The College of Idaho's Stephanie Helm, and the University of Great Falls' Alejandra Borunda as the five individual qualifiers from Region I.
This past weekend, Jordan, who was named as a member of the All-Region team, finished 8th individually and Moller turned in a 20th place showing.
With regional champion Simon Fraser receiving the automatic berth, Cascade Collegiate Conference champion Eastern Oregon, regional runner-up British Columbia, and Lewis-Clark State had to settle for one of the 15 at-large team berths.
Northwest's Knudtson was the region's first individual qualifier thanks to her 4th place finish at last weekend's Region I Championship, while Jordan grabbed the region's second individual spot thanks to her 8th place showing. College of Idaho's Helm, Great Falls' Borunda, and Moller captured the final three spots respectively thanks to 9th, 18th, and 20th place performances in Olympia, Washington.
For both Jordan and Moller, this will be their second straight appearance at the NAIA Championships as the duo helped guide Corban to its first-ever national championship meet last season. Jordan will look to improve on her 126th place showing at last season's meet, while Moller finished right behind Jordan last season as the 127th runner to cross the finish line.
Jordan and Moller were two of 67 individual qualifiers from around the country that will compete along with 29 teams in the 5K race.
