Hunsucker & Moller lead Warriors to 2nd place finishes

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Junior Chad Hunsucker (Polson, Mont.) and freshman Carli Moller (Vancouver, Wash.) paced Corban's cross country teams with 8th and 6th place individual finishes, as the Warrior teams finished 2nd in their respective races at the Oregon State University Invitational on Saturday.

On the men's side, Hunsucker finished 8th overall in a time of 26:20.00.  Sophomore Jason Bernard (Salem, Ore.) and senior Brent Fasholz (Canby, Ore.) finished 10th and 11th respectively, while registering times of 26:26.00 and 26:31.00.  All ten runners finished for the Warriors with sophomores Ben Snell (Spray, Ore.) and Brian Beeson (Soldotna, Alaska), as well as freshman Jeffrey Schloemer (Mt. Vernon, Wash.), finished in the top 25.

As a team, the Warriors finished with 71 total team points to take second place overall.  Corban was 32 points behind the overall race leader, Willamette University.

On the women's side, Moller finished the 6K course in a time of 22:49.00. Freshman Bernice Soto (Cascade, Ore.) and junior transfer Danielle Jordan (Medford, Ore.) finished 12th and 13th in times of 23:24.00 and 23:31.00. Freshman Tera Stegner (Damascus, Ore.), junior Jill Nielsen (Baker City, Ore.), and junior Sara Aikin (Lebanon, Ore.) finished in the top 25 with finishes of 20th, 23rd, and 25th respectively.

As a team, the Warriors finished with a team total of 74 points, which was 17 points behind the race winners, Oregon State University.

Corban’s cross country team will take a week off before heading to the NAIA Region I Championships on Saturday, November 4th, in La Grande beginning at 10:00 a.m.
