EAGLE, Idaho -
Led by senior Danielle Jordan (Medford, Ore.) and junior Ben Snell (Spray, Ore.), Corban's men's & women's cross country teams finished 4th and 3rd respectively at the Cascade Collegiate Conference championships ran today at the 545-acre Eagle Island State Park.
On the women's side, Jordan completed the 5K course in a time of 19:16.40 to finish fourth individually just ahead of sophomore Carli Moller (Vancouver, Wash.), who ran the race in a time of 19:30.80 and finished 5th overall.
Along with Jordan and Moller's finishes, the NAIA's No. 30-ranked Warriors placed another pair of runners in the top 20 en route to earning 61 points to finish behind conference champions Eastern Oregon and runner-up The College of Idaho.
Sophomore Tera Stegner (Damascus, Ore.) and senior Sara Aikin (Lebanon, Ore.) finished 14th and 20th respectively in times of 20:14.90 and 20:27.20.
Rounding out the team qualifiers were freshman Karissa Griggs (Athena, Ore.) in a time of 20:28.00 (21st overall), senior Jill Nielsen (Baker City, Ore.) in a time of 20:47.60 (26th overall), and freshman Alyssa Powers (Goldendale, Wash.) in a time of 20:54.45 (29th overall).
A pair of freshmen -- Ali Ghavami (Keizer, Ore.) and Bianca Davis (Ontario, Ore.) -- along with sophomore Melissa Peterson (Aumsville, Ore.) competed for the Warriors but did not count in the overall team total.
On the men's side, Snell turned in the Warriors' best finish with a 23rd place showing individually thanks to a time of 27:29.40 on the 8K course. Right behind Snell was fellow junior Brian Beeson (Soldotna, Alaska) in a time of 27:32.30 good for 24th overall.
Meanwhile, sophomore Jeffrey Schloemer (Mt. Vernon, Wash.), junior Jason Bernard (Salem, Ore.), freshman Ben Search (Battleground, Wash.), freshman Kevin Cook (Ashland, Ore.), and freshman Jason Hardrath (Baker City, Ore.) rounded out the Warriors' scoring by finishing in the top 60 individually.
Corban will complete its season two weeks from today -- Saturday, November 3rd -- when the Warriors run at the NAIA Region I Championships beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Olympia, Washington.
