| Runners Snell victory at Warner Pacific/Cascade Open

Sophomore Ben Snell won his first-ever collegiate individual title today, as Corban's men's cross country team captured its second team title of the season and the women finished second at the Warner Pacific/Cascade Open.

PORTLAND, Ore.– Sophomore Ben Snell (Spray, Ore.) won his first-ever collegiate individual title, as Corban's men's cross country team captured its second team title of the season and the women finished second at the Warner Pacific/Cascade Open at Lents Park on Saturday.
Snell finished the 8K course in a time of 25:37.03, which was over six seconds faster than the runner-up, Jason Prado of Portland State University. Junior Chad Hunsucker (Polson, Mont.) rounded out the top three racers, as he crossed the line in a time of 25:57.02.
Sophomores Jason Bernard (Salem, Ore.) and Brian Beeson (Soldotna, Alaska) also placed in the top 10 in times of 26:38.20 (Bernard - 7th) and 26:57.16 (Beeson - 9th). Rounding out the men finishers were freshman Jeffrey Schloemer (Mt. Vernon, Wash.), sophomore Ben Pearson (Salem, Ore.), freshman Michael Baxter (Renton, Wash.), and senior Thomas Berney (Oregon City, Ore.).
As a team, the Warriors finished in a time of 2:12:51.45 to earn 36 total team points. Corban outlasted NCAA Division I member Portland State, who finished 2nd in a time of 2:12:58.24 to garner 38 points. Fellow Cascade Collegiate Conference members The Evergreen State College (2:18:43.26 - 75 points) and Warner Pacific College (2:26:47.39 - 98 points) finished 3rd and 4th respectively.
On the women's side, Moller finished a mere 21 seconds behind the 5K winner, Holli Dieu of Portland State, in a time of 18:29.77. Junior transfer Danielle Jordan (Medford, Ore.) finsihed 9th overall in a time of 19:08.65, while three other Warriors finished in the top 20. Freshman Bernice Soto (Cascade, Ore.), junior Ashley Adams (Lebanon, Ore.), and freshman Tera Stegner (Damascus, Ore.) finished 15th, 16th, and 19th respectively.
Rounding out the finishers for the women were junior Jill Nielsen (Baker City, Ore.), junior Sara Aikin (Lebanon, Ore.), sophomore Katrina Davis (Anchorage, Alaska), junior Ashley Ruitta (Asotria, Ore.), freshman Melissa Peterson (Cascade, Ore.), freshman Natalie Meldrum (Winnemuca, Nev.), and freshman Sadie Urdahl (Redwood Valley, Calif.). As a team, the Warriors scored 62 points to finish a mere four points behind the race winners - Portland State University. Corban finished the 5K course in a combined time of 1:36:09.49.
Corban’s cross country team will next to in action on Saturday, October 21st, when they compete in the Oregon State Invitational in Corvallis beginning at 10:00 a.m.
