Warriors bring home pair of titles from Lents Park

PORTLAND, Ore. -
For the first time since the inaugural Corban/Warner Pacific Invitational last season, Corban's men's and women's cross country teams brought home a pair of titles from the same race thanks to its victories today at the annual Warner Pacific/Cascade Open at Lents Park.
Leading the way for the Warriors was senior Danielle Jordan (Medford, Ore.), who brought home her first-ever collegiate individual title in a time of 14:47.86 en route to beating out fellow teammate and sophomore Carli Moller (Vancouver, Wash.) by almost 20 seconds. Jordan, who transferred from NCAA Division I member Liberty University prior to last season, had recorded a previous career-best finish of 14th at the 2006 NAIA Region I Championships.
Along with Jordan and Moller's finishes, the NAIA's No. 30-ranked Warriors placed seven runners in the top 10 en route to earning a meet-low 23 points and captured its second team title in program history.
Rounding out the team qualifiers were freshman Alyssa Powers (Goldendale, Wash.) in a time of 15:40.20 (5th overall), freshman Ali Ghavami (Keizer, Ore.) in a time of 15:51.65 (7th overall), freshman Karissa Griggs (Athena, Ore.) in a time of 15:56.26 (8th overall), sophomore Tera Stegner (Barlow, Ore.) in a time of 16:01.78 (9th overall), and senior Sara Aikin (Lebanon, Ore.) in a time of 16:02.83 (10th overall).
Senior Jill Nielsen (Baker City, Ore.), freshman Andrea Collins (Spangle, Wash.), freshman Bobbie Clauson (Emmett, Idaho), and freshman Madison Lewis (Anchorage, Alaska) all ran for the Warriors and were counted as individuals.
On the men's side, Corban captured its third team title in program history led by junior Ben Snell (Spray, Ore.) who completed the 6K course in a time of 21:14.86 and finished fourth individually. The Warriors had six runners place in the top 15 individually and recorded a meet-low 26 points en route to capturing the title.
Along with Snell, junior Brian Beeson (Soldotna, Alaska) finished in a time of 21:30.09 (6th overall), junior Jason Bernard (Salem, Ore.) ran the race in a time of 21:34.62 (7th overall), sophomore Jeffrey Schloemer (Mt. Vernon, Wash.) completed the course in a time of 21:45.60 (9th overall), freshman Ben Search (Battleground, Wash.) finished in a time of 21:59.30 (11th overall), freshman Kevin Cook (Ashland, Ore.) ran the race in a time of 22:09.40 (12th overall), and freshman Jason Hardrath (Baker City, Ore.) completed the course in a time of 23:23.21 (20th overall).
Representing Corban, but counting as individuals were a trio of freshmen -- Beau St. Peter (Salem, Ore.), Nathan Moller (Vancouver, Wash.), and Daniel Obenchain (Boise, Idaho).
Corban will run two races next Saturday, October 20th, when the Warriors take part in the first-ever Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship in Caldwell, Idaho and the annual Oregon State Invitational in Corvallis. The CCC Championships begin at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST), while the OSU Invitational will begin at 10:00 a.m. PST.
