Corban finishes 4th and 7th at Boxer Rebellion

PACIFIC GROVE, Ore. - Sophomore Chad Hunsucker (Polson, Mont.) led the men’s cross country team to a 4th place finish overall, while sophomore Jill Nielsen (Baker City, Ore.) led the women’s cross country team to a 7th place finish overall at the Boxer Rebellion on Saturday morning.

Ten Warrior runners placed in the top 52 for the men’s program, while six Corban women placed in the top 60 for the women’s program.

Hunsucker ran the men’s 8k race in a time of 27:07.92, which was only 17 seconds off the winning time, which came from Timothy Badley from Concordia-Portland (26:50.38).

Freshman Jason Bernard (Salem, Ore.) ran in a time of 27:47.93 to place 14th overall, while freshmen Brian Beeson (Soldotna, Alaska) and Ben Snell (Spray, Ore.) finished back-to-back in 26th and 27th place respectively.

Nielsen ran the women’s 6k race in a time of 25:53.96, while freshman Katrina Davis (Anchorage, Alaska) finished in 31st place in a time of 26:00.14.

Both Corban cross country teams are back in action on Saturday, September 17th, when they take part in the George Fox Invitational beginning at 11:00 a.m. in Newberg, Oregon.
