MONMOUTH, Ore. -  Western Oregon’s senior tandem of Amy Weberg and Lisa Munyon scored goals, helping to lead the Wolves to a 2-1 non-conference women’s soccer victory over Corban College on Tuesday afternoon at the WOU Soccer field.

The victory on a warm afternoon evened the Wolves record at 5-5-2 on the season, while the Warriors dropped to 3-8.

Corban scored first, just moments into the match on a shot by freshman forward Marissa Walter (Elk Grove, Calif.), off a pass from senior forward Lyndsey Hawk (Medford, Ore.).  It took the Warriors just 2:35 to find the goal, and the visitors held a 1-0 lead for the next 16 minutes.

WOU’s Weberg then tied the match after breaking away from a defender and launching a shot from ten yards out.  The score remained 1-1 at the half, with each team having sent eight shots at the other goal.

The Wolves went on the attack immediately in the second half, firing two shots on goal in the first two minutes, before Munyon headed in a cross from Chelsea Glavin at the 48:21 mark.

Corban's senior goalkeeper Kim Mendenhall (Windsor, Calif.) recorded a game-high 10 saves, while WOU's Ally Meyer needed to register a mere 4 saves en route to picking up the victory.

The Warriors return to Cascade Collegiate Conference play on Friday, September 29th, when they host Albertson College of Idaho beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Warrior Field.
