HELENA, Mt. - Despite a second half goal from senior forward Sara Laughlin (Ephrata, Wash.), Corban's women's soccer team dropped its final game in the state of Montana, 4-1, to the NAIA's No. 8-ranked Saints of Carroll College on Sunday at Nelson Stadium.

As reported by twelfth-year head coach Marty Ziesemer and a mini write up from Carroll College's Sports Information Department, Corban pulled within two goals in the 50th minute when Laughlin scored her third goal of the season via a rifle shot from 18 yards out past the outstretched arms of Carroll's goalkeeper.

In the Warriors' bid to stop the undefeated Saints of Carroll, Corban watched as the nation's 8th ranked team scored three unanswered goals in the opening half. Carroll notched the game's first goal a mere two minutes into the contest before registering goal #2 & #3 in the 23rd and 24th minute respectively.

The game's final goal came in the final minute of the contest when Carroll regained its three-goal advantage and rode that to its seventh straight win this season.

So far this season, Laughlin and sophomore Jessica Matthews (Yelm, Wash.) are tied for the team lead with three goals each. Meanwhile, Laughlin has recorded a team-best eight points (3 goals & 2 assists) in her final season donning the navy and gold.

Corban is now 2-4-0 overall, while Carroll remains unbeaten at 7-0-0 overall. The Warriors are next in action on Friday, September 14th, when they kick off Cascade Collegiate Conference play against the Lady Thunderbirds of Cascade beginning at 3:00 p.m. in Portland.
