Erica Williams returns to the Warriors’ bench for her second season as an assistant coach following a five-year hiatus spent raising her two children, as well as assistant coaching girls’ basketball at nearby McNary High School.
Erica played four seasons for the Warriors from 1996-2001 as a point guard for coach and father-in-law, Terry Williams. A starting point guard for two seasons at then-Western Baptist, Erica is fourth on the Warriors’ all-time career list in assists with 162. Erica was a NCCAA 2nd team all-region selection and named the team’s best defensive player as a 2000-01 senior. Erica was also the starting point guard on the first women’s basketball team to win the conference tournament and advance to the NAIA Division II national tournament.
Having been involved in youth basketball camps and looks forward to her opportunity to be on the Warrior bench as an assistant coach. “Combining basketball, education, and spiritual growth changed my life,” said Erica. “I want to help produce that chance in other’s lives too.”
Married to fellow assistant coach, Matt Williams, the couple currently resides in Salem with their daughter, Katelyn, and son, Parker. The couple currently attends Salem Heights Church.
