SPOKANE, Wash. – Senior Jessica Steigleman (Eugene, Ore.) led the Warriors with 10 points on 5-for-10 shooting from the field, as Corban's women's basketball team played an exhibition contest against NCAA Division I member Gonzaga inside the McCarthy Athletic Center on Monday.

Even though the Warriors were out-played according to the final score, 103-37 in favor of the host Bulldogs, Corban had a wonderful experience that will set them up for the remainder of the 2007-08 season.

Steigleman scored 10 of the Warriors' first 20 points on 5-for-8 shooting from the field in the opening half before being held scoreless for the remainder of the game.

Spokane-native and freshman Jennesa Miller (Mica, Wash.) and sophomore Emily Goette (Aumsville, Ore.) came off the bench and added 8 and 7 points respectively, as the duo combined to shoot 5-for-13 from the field with Miller going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

Seven different Warriors scored at least one point, while all 15 players saw at least two minutes of action against the defending Western Coast Conference (WCC) champions.

For Gonzaga, reigning WCC Newcomer of the Year Heather Bowman led all players with 15 points on 5-for-9 shooting from the field and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds en route to recording a double-double. Along with Bowman, four other Bulldogs scored in double figures.

As a team, Corban shot 13-for-50 (26.0%) from the field, including 11-for-18 (61.1%) from the free throw line. On the other hand, Gonzaga was 35-for-73 (47.9%) from the field, including the game's only three-point baskets as the Bulldogs were 8-for-22 (36.4%) from beyond the arc.

Corban will now begin preparing for its next opponent -- NCAA Division III member Linfield -- on Friday, November 16th in the opening game of the Allstate Cantillana Tip-off Classic on the campus of the University of Puget Sound beginning at 2:00 p.m. in Tacoma, Washington.
