PORTLAND, Ore. – Senior Jessica Steigleman (Eugene, Ore.) capped an amazing career Sunday when she was named to her third All-Cascade Collegiate Conference 1st team after leading the conference in both total points and points per game in her final season as a Warrior.
Steigleman was one of ten players within the Cascade Collegiate Conference to earn 1st team accolades, which was the third time during her four-year career while donning the navy and gold. During the 2005-06 season, Steigleman was named all-conference honorable mention as a sophomore.
“Jessica deserves this honor,” said ninth-year head coach Terry Williams. “There is no one more deserving in the conference in my opinion and it caps off her amazing career.”
A 5-foot-10 guard/forward combo player, Steigleman concluded her final season in the Capitol City by leading the team and conference in scoring with a total of 533 points and an average of 17.8 points per game.
She also led the Warriors and conference in total field goals made (209) and field goals attempted (504). Meanwhile, Steigleman led the team in free throws made (85), free throws attempted (117), and three-point field goal percentage (.417).
Steigleman ended her final season at Corban second on the team in field goal percentage (.415), three-point field goals made (30), offensive rebounds (66), defensive rebounds (141), total rebounds (207), rebounds per game (6.9), blocks (27), and steals (42).
Besides her conference honor, Steigleman finished her illustrious career as the program's all-time career leader in points (1,747), field goals made (707), and field goals attempted (1,672). Steigleman also ranks in the top ten in Warrior women's basketball history in blocked shots (79 -- 2nd), points per game (14.3 -- 3rd), rebounds (682 -- 6th), steals (216 -- 6th), free throws attempted (358 -- 7th), free throws made (253 -- 8th), rebounds per game (5.6 -- 8th), and assists (193 -- 10th).
In addition to leading the program in scoring and field goals, Steigleman is one of only three Warriors to have recorded more than 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 200 steals, and 50 blocked shots over her career.
Steigleman's final season ranked among the program's best, as she became one of only six Warriors in program history to score 500-or-more points in a single season en route to ranking 5th all-time with 533. Steigleman also ranks as the all-time single season leader in points per game with an average of 17.8 and field goals attempted with 504. The senior co-captain also concluded her final season a mere six made field goals shy of the Warriors' single season record with 209.
