Quartet of Warrior players earn conference accolades

SALEM, Ore. – Juniors Jessi Schaumburg (Redmond, Ore.) and Tosha Wilson (Madras, Ore.) were selected to the Women’s Basketball All-Cascade Collegiate Conference Team, while Wilson was named to the All-Defensive Team, as announced today by Sam Ghrist, CCC Sports Information Director. 

Sophomore Jessica Steigleman (Eugene, Ore.) was named as an All-Conference honorable mention for the second straight season, while freshman Emily Kindle (Stayton, Ore.) finished fourth in the Freshman of the Year voting.

Schaumburg led Corban in scoring with 12.2 points per game, while pulling down 92 rebounds and handing out 84 assists.  The 5-foot-8 Redmond High School graduate led the Warriors with 379 points and received one first-place vote from the conference coaches.

Wilson led the conference in steals with 85 and assists with 167, while averaging 9.7 points per game.  The 5-foot-6 Madras High School product tallied 301 points, 128 rebounds, and 1 blocked shot to top the All-Defensive Team with 38 points.

Steigleman landed on the All-Conference team as an honorable mention for the second straight season after being named Freshman of the Year in 2004-05.  The 5-foot-10 guard/forward combo finished second on the team in scoring with 12.1 points per game, while pulling down 135 rebounds and blocking 16 shots.

Kindle was one of two freshmen on this season’s roster and started 30-out-of-31 games.  The 5-foot-11 Stayton High School graduate finished her first intercollegiate season with 210 points, 165 rebounds, 25 assists, 9 blocked shots, and 27 steals.

The Warriors advanced to the conference tournament semifinals where they will face off against Eastern Oregon on Friday, February 24th, beginning at 7:00 p.m. inside Quinn Coliseum in La Grande, Oregon.
