CALDWELL, Idaho – Senior Jessica Steigleman (Eugene, Ore.) ended the night a mere point shy of tying her career-high with a game-high 25 points, but Corban's women's basketball team committed 27 turnovers and fell to The College of Idaho, 70-61, Friday inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

Earlier this season, the 5-foot-11 guard/forward combo player set a career-high with 26 points against first-year conference member Northwest Christian on December 19th. Steigleman also added 13 rebounds tonight against The College of Idaho, while shooting 9-for-22 from the field to go along with a 3-for-6 showing from beyond the arc and a perfect 4-for-4 performance at the free throw line.

In the first half, Corban quickly built an eight-point lead (8-0) as junior Kailey Bostwick (Medford, Ore.) scored all the Warriors' points via a pair of three-pointers and a fast break lay-up. Unfortunately for the Warriors, The College of Idaho put together a 7-0 run of its own to pull within a mere point (8-7) two-and-a-half minutes into the game. A 9-2 run by Corban over a span of 2:49 pushed the Warriors' lead back to eight points (17-9), but the host 'Yotes knotted the game for the first time at 21-all with 9:24 showing on the clock thanks to a 12-4 run of its own. Over the remainder of the first half, neither team took more than a four-point lead as The College of Idaho scored the final four points and took a 33-29 lead into the locker room.

In the second half, The College of Idaho used a 9-4 run over the first 3:19 en route to securing a 42-33 advantage. Without batting an eye lash, Corban tightened up its defense and held the host 'Yotes without a field goal for eight-in-a-half minutes and used a 15-0 run en route to taking a 48-42 lead with 10:31 remaining in the game. Unfortunately for the Warriors, C of I re-took the lead at 51-50 via a 7-3 run over a span of 2:51 and then took the lead for good with 7:15 on the clock at 54-52. Corban got as close as one point (56-55) when Steigleman connected on a jumper with just over five minutes remaining. Unfortunately, the Warriors could not get any closer as The College of Idaho got nine points from Whitney Owen over the game's final five-plus minutes en route to securing the nine-point victory (70-61).

Along with Steigleman, Bostwick added 17 points and a game-high tying four assists while freshman Rachel Harter (Grass Valley, Calif.) registered a career-high of eight points and tied her career-high with 11 rebounds. Sophomore Emily Goette (Aumsville, Ore.) led the Warriors with a team-high 14 rebounds to go along with the aforementioned duo of Steigleman and Harter, who combined to pull down 24 of the Warriors' game-high 52 rebounds.

The difference in the game came as The College of Idaho scored 27 points off 27 Corban turnovers and made six more free throws than the Warriors at the charity stripe.

The College of Idaho was led by Owen, who scored a career-high 19 points on 7-for-12 shooting from the field to go along with a 2-for-6 performance from beyond the arc and a 3-for-4 showing at the free throw line. Along with Owens, Christon Vander Esch added 15 points and a game-high 15 rebounds to go along with Whitney Clark's 14 points.

As a team, Corban shot 23-for-62 (37.1%) from the field including 6-for-17 (35.3%) from behind the three-point line and 9-for-12 (75.0%) from the free throw line. On the other hand, C of I was 25-for-75 (33.3%) from the field that included performances of 5-for-21 (23.8%) from beyond the arc and 15-for-19 (78.9%) from the charity stripe.

With the loss, Corban falls to 8-17 overall, 4-11 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. Meanwhile, The College of Idaho improves to 15-7 overall, 12-3 in CCC action.  The Warriors will return to the floor on Saturday, February 9th, when Corban visits nationally-ranked Eastern Oregon beginning at 5:30 p.m. inside the Quinn Coliseum.
