Williams signs first incoming recruit for '08-09 season

SALEM, Ore. – Ninth-year head coach Terry Williams announced today the first official member of the Class of 2013, as current Clackamas High School senior, as well as the school record holder in blocked shots and three-pointers, Becky Buhler (Clackamas, Ore.) signed a Letter of Intent for the 2008-09 season.

Buhler, who is the younger sister of former men's basketball player Dan Buhler (2002-03, 2004-06), is currently averaging 12.0 points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots per game while shooting over 40.0% from beyond the three-point line.

"Becky has tremendous experience at the highest level of competition in Oregon high school basketball," stated Williams. "She is a tremendous three-point shooter. Her experience and shooting ability will lift our program to another level. I am very excited to have Becky come to Corban College as a student and to help build us into a national contender."

Buhler has been a starter for the Cavaliers' varsity team since her freshman season. Following her sophomore campaign, Buhler earned all-league honorable mention before being named as an all-league 1st team member after her junior season.

Along with her all-league honor as a junior, the 6-foot-2 Buhler was also named Clackamas girls' basketball Most Valuable Player as well as earning honorable mention all-state.

Corban is in the midst of completing the 2007-08 season and is scheduled to open the '08-09 season on Thursday, November 15th, as part of the Simpson Tournament in Redding, California.
