PORTLAND, Ore. - Junior Jessica Steigleman (Eugene, Ore.) scored a game-high 17 points on 7-for-14 shooting from the field, as Corban's women's basketball team returned to its winning ways with a wire-to-wire 65-48 victory over the Cavaliers of Concordia on Friday.

Concordia put the first two points on the board via Joyce Oniah jumper before Corban went a 10-0 run thanks to five points by senior Jessi Norton (Redmond, Ore.).  The visiting Warriors pushed their lead to as much as 26 points (32-6) before Concordia began to whittle away and brought the deficit to 17 points (35-18) at halftime.

In the opening minutes of the second half, Corban quickly pushed its lead back above 20 points (41-20) thanks to a 6-2 run over the first 2:21.  The visiting Warriors' largest lead of the final twenty minutes came at 59-34 when freshman Hillary Sell (Aloha, Ore.) hit a jumper with 8:46 remaining in the game.  In the final half, both teams scored 30 points but Corban began another winning streak thanks to its seventeen point advantage at intermission.

Along with Steigleman, Norton and fellow senior Kendall Dionne (Brownsville, Ore.) added 14 and 13 points respectively.  Junior Mandy Peterson (Portland, Ore.) led the Warriors with a team-best 8 rebounds, while Dionne and junior Katie Dennis (Damascus, Ore.) each pulled down 7 boards.

As a team, Corban shot 26-for-59 (44.1%) from the field, including 10-for-13 (76.9%) from the free throw line.  Meanwhile, Concordia shot 18-for-58 (31.0%) from the field, including 10-for-16 (62.5%) from the charity stripe.

Concordia was led by Oniah's team-high 14 points on 5-for-8 shooting from field, while the second-year player grabbed a game-high 9 rebounds to fall one board shy of a double-double.  Maryam Razavi and a pair of Cavaliers -- Angie Woolhiser and Lindsay Aho -- added 11 and 7 points respectively, while Razavi aided Oniah's rebounding performance with 8 boards of her own.

Thanks to its second straight win over Concordia this season, Corban improves to 17-6 overall, 9-3 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. Meanwhile, Concordia pushed its winless streak to three games to fall to 7-17 overall, 3-9 in CCC action. The Warriors will take a mini-break from conference play when they travel south to Eugene to take on future Cascade Collegiate Conference member and rival Northwest Christian beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Morse Event Center.
