In sixteen seasons as head volleyball coach at Corban College, Tracy Smith
has seen the program rise to a level of consistent success. The Warriors
advanced to the Cascade Collegiate Conference playoffs eight consecutive
seasons (1997-2004) and have moved on to the NAIA Region I tournament four times
during that span. But more importantly, Tracy sees the impact Corban can have in the lives of her players.
"The Lord brings ladies to our program who have great hearts and
work ethics and we provide them with a structure for their academic,
spiritual, and athletic growth," Tracy said. "They grow and
work hard which brings success on and off the court. As a team we must
learn to develop and have a servant's heart, put others first before
ourselves and respect our sisters and brothers in Christ."
With an all-time 231-259 win-loss
record at Corban, Tracy has seen the most success in recent
years. Despite taking the 1998 season off to spend more time with her
family, the Warriors were ranked in the NAIA top-25 from 1997-99 and
received votes in 2001. Tracy was named the National Christian
College Athletic Association Coach of the Year in 1997 as her squad
claimed the NCCAA national championship. Corban also won the
Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament and achieved its highest NAIA
ranking at No. 13 during the 1997 campaign.
Tracy's husband, Tim, is an assistant coach and works full-time for Athletes in Action.
They have two sons, J.D. and Jackson.
