KIRKLAND, Wash. – In their final match of the season, Corban’s women’s volleyball team went head-to-head with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ (NAIA) No. 13-ranked Eagles of Northwest and were swept in three games (22-30, 16-30, 18-30) on Saturday night.

Freshman sensation Chelsea Reeher (Powell Butte, Ore.) led the Warriors with a team-high 7 kills, while senior Katie Lewin (Keizer, Ore.) and junior Hallie McNaughton (Bend, Ore.) each add 4.

Junior libero Becky Horn (Troutdale, Ore.) finished her first season in a Warrior uniform by recording a match-high 16 digs, which gives her 499 for the season.  The 5-foot-6 Reynolds High School graduate finished the season with an average of 6.24 digs per game, which breaks the single season record set last season by former Warrior Jamie Ruda by almost one dig per game.  Despite finishing 19 digs away from second on the all-time single season digs chart, Horn (pictued right) completed one of the best seasons ever by a Warrior libero, as she recorded 30-or-more digs on 4 different occasions, including a season and conference-high 41 against Eastern Oregon on October 8th.

Besides Horn, senior setters Whitney DeWolf (Central Point, Ore.) and Ashley Walbridge (Troutdale, Ore.) combined for 17 assists – 10 by DeWolf and 7 by Walbridge – as they guided the Warriors’ offense over the three games.

Jessie Buck, Lisa Langmade, and Sara Bendorf led Northwest with a match-high 10 kills each, while Emily Marquez and two other Eagles added 9 and 8 respectively.  Alison Simmons led the Eagles’ offense with a match-high 44 assists, while Kara VanZanten anchored Northwest’s back line with a team-high 14 digs.

With the loss, Corban finishes their season at 6-16 overall, 6-12 in Cascade Collegiate play.  Northwest improves to 24-2 overall, 16-2 in Cascade Collegiate play.
