Reeher leads Warriors in loss to The College of Idaho

CALDWELL, Idaho - Junior Chelsea Reeher (Powell Butte, Ore.) recorded a team-high seven kills, as Corban's women's volleyball team suffered its first road loss of the season, 3-0 (30-22, 30-17, 30-12), at the hands of the NAIA's No. 10-ranked Coyotes of The College of Idaho on Friday inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

Rebounding after a tough loss last Saturday at Southern Oregon, The College of Idaho blasted 53 kills and notched 13 service aces en route to ending the Warriors' four-game win streak, as well as handing Corban its first road Cascade Collegiate Conference loss of the year.

Along with Reeher, senior Ashley Lange (Salem, Ore.) and a duo of freshmen -- Kristen Eiler (Salem, Ore.) and Teri Braun (Dallas, Ore.) -- recorded four kills each.  Sophomore setter Amy Thompson (Oregon City, Ore.) handed out a team-best 19 assists, while junior Rashelle Davenport (Kalama, Wash.) and senior Caylin Bankston (La Grande, Ore.) anchored Corban's back line with a team-high five digs apiece.

C of I's Anne Parker led a balanced attack with ten kills, as the host Lady Yotes extended their home win streak to 33 in a row with the three-game sweep over Corban. The College of Idaho's Sarah Buhler added eight kills and six blocks with Kathryn Ely registering eight kills, and Katie Hogue, Kristin Henning, and Katie Zillner all spiking seven balls.  Madie Machurek had 24 assists, seven digs, and six aces in the victory, with Catherine Everist leading the defense with 15 digs.

Corban is now 11-10 overall, 9-6 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play, while The College of Idaho improves to 17-7 overall, 14-1 in CCC action. The Warriors return to action tomorrow night, October 27th, against the Mountaineers of Eastern Oregon beginning at 7:00 p.m. in La Grande.
